Australia's Beautiful Swimming Pools
Bondi Icebergs, New South Wales
For more than a century, people have been going to this famous pool. Said to be among the most often photographed swimming spots globally, Icebergs is well-known for its incredibly blue seas, extensive background, and southernmost point on Bondi Beach, all of which are connected to the beach's enduring tradition of winter swimming. A day pass allows anybody to enter the club and utilize the main pool, children's pool, and sauna. On Thursdays and Sundays, entrance may be limited due to cleaning and competition schedules.
Hotel JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort and Spa
In the Gold Coast district of Surfers Paradise, the JW Marriott Gold Coast is a popular destination for tourists wishing to mix luxurious leisure with outdoor pursuits. Not only do surfers adore the atmosphere here, though; serious swimmers may work up a sweat in the hotel's freshwater pool or wade into the saltwater lagoon with its white sand border, which has fish frolicking along a coral reef. Both are open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week. During the off-season, they have been known to accept non-guests; nevertheless, it is important to call ahead to confirm capacity.
The Ritz-Carlton Perth, Western Australia
With its breathtaking views of Perth's glittering skyline and the waterfront high-rises, the outdoor rooftop pool at the Ritz-Carlton is one of the most striking spots in the city. Take a leisurely dip as the sun sets, or swim all the way to the infinity edge for a view of the quayside below and the Swan River if you're the daring kind. To experience it for yourself, you'll need to book a stay as this section is only accessible to hotel guests.
Jellybean Pool, New South Wales
Nestled within the Blue Mountains National Park, Jellybean Pool is an untamed swimming hole that's a favorite with families on adventures and strollers. Simply follow the Jellybean Track downhill from the Glenbrook Information Center parking lot to the pool. The serene bush surrounds, which include sandstone cliffs, eucalyptus trees, beachy banks, and incredible animals, make this a genuinely unique area to swim, even though the dishwater-like color of the pool may not look the most attractive at first.
Melbourne City Baths, Victoria
The freshly refurbished Melbourne City Baths, which like something out of a Wes Anderson film, were initially made available to the public in 1860 as a more hygienic substitute for citizens washing in the adjacent Yarra River. Ever since, the neighborhood has benefited from the unique historical building, which features a red and cream exterior and vintage changing cubicles. It serves as a popular pool, gym, and wellness center. Everyone is invited to join them for a swim; lessons are given for those who are just starting out, as well as lap lanes for athletes.
Pretty Beach House, New South Wales
Pretty Beach House, which offers romantic lodge accommodations in the privacy of Bouddi National Park, is less than two hours' drive from Sydney. Just big enough for a fast back and forth, the stunning but tiny unheated infinity pool is reserved for overnight guests. In front of you is the aroma of bushland and glimpses of the Broken Bay coastline. For those who require even more indulgence in their hydrophilia, each of the four lodges—all save one—has a private plunge pool.
Greens Pool, Western Australia
Unlike other pools, which have walls or banks around them, Greens Pool is formed from a secluded cove shielded from the Southern Ocean by a strong wall of granite rocks. Open-water swimmers of all ages may enjoy the jade lagoon without fear of getting thrashed by strong waves thanks to this natural barrier. Greens Pool, perched on the southernmost point of William Bay National Park, is prone to summertime crowds, so try to come during off-peak hours.

North Sydney Olympic Pool, New South Wales
The North Sydney Olympic Pool's position offers a nice break from the bustle of the city, but it's also tough to forget where you are with the gray girders of Sydney Harbour Bridge towering above. Since its 1936 opening to host the athletic competition that is now known as the Commonwealth Games in 1938, the facility has seen 86 world records broken. It is now closed for renovations, with completion anticipated in May 2023. After that, memberships and visitor tickets will once again be offered.
